Paul Kolpak, a founding partner, has extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate law, with a strong concentration on zoning matters, including zoning, rezoning, special use permits, variances, mixed-use projects, and all other administrative land use matters in the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Paul can guide you through the maze of regulatory, planning, and environmental requirements related to your specific zoning matter.

Paul regularly presents matters to the City of Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) and is in daily communication with aldermen and city officials regarding his client’s interests. He knows which questions to ask and which hurdles to overcome to avoid delays to your project. He represents hundreds of homeowners, developers, and businesses each year, including many loyal clients who have returned year after year because of Paul’s personal attention, extensive experience, and results-oriented approach to legal matters.

Paul is a graduate of Drake University and received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. He regularly presents seminars regarding zoning matters and legal real estate matters.

Colleen Doherty, Partner, joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in 2016 and has focused her practice on real estate, zoning, small business formation, and related areas of law. Her goal is clear and honest communication with her clients to ensure they fully understand the transaction at hand, whether they are a first-time home buyer or an experienced commercial developer. In addition to residential and commercial real estate transactions and zoning matters, Colleen handles limited liability and/or corporation setup and drafting of governing documents, negotiating housing court violations, representation in probate court, estate property sales, creation of new condominium associations, purchasing and selling businesses, foreclosure representation, short sale negotiations, and REO sales. Colleen is focused on ensuring she understands each individual client’s needs in order to effectively guide them through any transaction.

Colleen is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She received her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso School of Law in 2014 and her undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Claire Flannery has over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate contract law, handling residential and commercial real estate contracts and closings, commercial leasing, and related legal matters. With her hands-on transaction-based experience, she focuses on meeting each client's individual circumstances, needs, and goals. Claire regularly represents first-time home buyers and sellers, experienced homebuyers and sellers, and real estate investors and developers. She prioritizes communication and efficiency and the legal and financial interests of her clients. Claire’s clients return because of her experience, integrity, and responsiveness.

Claire received her Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from Quincy University, Quincy, Illinois. Claire is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, and the American Land Title Association. She is Of Counsel to Kolpak Law Group.
